Meeting Minutes
9-21-2021
Slade called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Members Present (13) - (2 new memberships)
Slade welcomed members and our guests to the meeting.
Slade reminded everyone about the State Fair Honey Booth and to register if anyone was interested in volunteering for a shift. Previously, an email had been sent out to all of the club members on how to register. Slade also shared an email we had received from Hives for Heroes which is asking for mentors for Veterans that may be in our area. Linda will forward the email to the club members and will respond to the email that was received inviting anyone located in area to our meetings.
Jeff Maurer introduced himself as the new Treasurer and stated that he does not have a Treasurer Report to present at this time due to having difficulty accessing the account on line and also getting to a branch that is open on a Saturday. There is only one location in Louisa that has Saturday hours and this bank is not convenient for him. He wants to close the current account and open a new one at Essex Bank. He also recommended that a second person be added to the account. Jim MacInnis motioned to open a new account and Jason Slater seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. Doug Anderson motioned to have a second officer on the account and suggested that be the Secretary, Linda Carpenter. Jack Mathews seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. Jeff Maurer stated that there has been no activity in the account since he became Treasurer. The last Treasurer report that was presented to the club was in June.
Doug Anderson shared his presentation on Getting Honey Bees Ready for the Winter. A handout was provided to everyone and Doug had a visual presentation as well. This presentation was very informative. Thank you Doug! As always, we are grateful for your knowledge and your willingness to share.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
